Lemon Spritz
Lemon Spritz is a washed Ethiopian from the Lalesa washing station in Gedeb. Heirloom varieties grown at 2150 masl, sourced through Nordic Approach. The cup is citrus-driven and floral: lemon peel, peach, and caramel with a long, structured finish. Clean and elegant without ever being quiet.
FROM ORIGIN TO CUP
Lemon Spritz comes from the Lalesa washing station in Gedeb, Ethiopia, run by Alemayehu Tilahun and vertically integrated with Origin Land Coffee. Heirloom varieties grow at 2150 masl in dense, layered semi-forest vegetation. Washed processing with underwater fermentation between 48 and 100 hours builds the clean citrus and floral character in this lot. We source it through Nordic Approach. The cup is sweet and tactile with lemon peel up front, peach in the middle, and caramel carrying through to a coating finish.

Origin
The Lalesa washing station operates in Gedeb, Ethiopia at 2150 masl. Lalesa is one of the finest coffee-producing areas in Gedeo, known for its dense layered semi-forest vegetation, including false banana trees and shade-grown coffee. The altitude and agroecology produce a clean, citrus-forward cup.

Varietal
Heirloom refers to the indigenous Ethiopian varieties that have never been formally catalogued. These uncatalogued genetics are responsible for the diversity and complexity in Ethiopian specialty coffee. At Lalesa, the heirloom varieties deliver citrus brightness, white florals and a sweet, tactile body.

Processing
Washed process: cherries are pulped and fermented underwater for 48 to 100 hours, then graded by density in washing channels. The parchment is soaked in clean water and dried on raised beds for 8 to 20 days. This method strips back fruit influence and lets origin character and varietal clarity come through.

Intervention level
This is a Low-intervention coffee. Washed processing involves pulping, extended underwater fermentation and density grading at the channel stage. The controlled fermentation window and multi-stage sorting build the clean, structured profile this lot is known for.
