ORDERS & SHIPPING
We roast and dispatch orders on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings (CET). Orders placed before 10:00 CET on a dispatch day usually go out the same day. Cut-off time for changes or additions is 12:00 PM the day after your order is placed. After that, the order moves into the dispatch queue and we usually can’t intercept it.
Yes, within the cut-off window. Orders are processed the day after they are placed, with a cut-off of 12:00 PM. Until then, email us and we can add or change items. After that the order is in the dispatch queue and we usually can’t intercept it.
We ship across Europe and worldwide. In Europe, orders usually arrive 1 to 3 business days after dispatch, mostly with GLS, and by DHL Express for non-EU European countries or where GLS is not available. Outside Europe, standard shipping can take up to 20 days after dispatch, and express is usually 3 to 6 business days. Delays on the courier’s side are outside our control.
Write to support@dakcoffeeroasters.com. For damage, send photos of the box and the parcel so we can file a claim with the carrier and send a replacement. For a missing item, we reship within the EU, and outside the EU we credit your account first and reship with your next order if needed.
For orders outside the EU, yes. Import duties, taxes and any customs charges are set by your local authorities, paid by you, and not included in the shipping you pay at checkout. Rules vary by country, so check with your local customs office if you are unsure.
THE COFFEE
We only sell whole beans and do not offer grinding before shipment. If you don’t have a grinder, you can take your bag to a local cafรฉ. Most are happy to grind it for you based on your preferred brewing method.
We recommend resting your coffee for about 14 days after the roast date. A little longer is always good, it lets the flavours settle and balance, and anything past the two-week mark should taste wonderful.
It is rare, but it can happen. Coffee is a natural product, and the occasional small stone can travel with green coffee. Every coffee passes through two destoners, twice, and a colour sorter before packing, so it is uncommon. Now and then a stone with the same density as a coffee bean slips through, which is most likely what happened here. For that same reason, these stones usually do not damage grinders. If you are ever unsure, write to support@dakcoffeeroasters.com.
Very fresh. We roast daily, and your coffee is usually roasted the day before or the same day it is dispatched. Because we move through stock quickly, we can’t set aside coffee that has already rested two weeks, so you receive it fresh and rest it at home.
Keep it in a sealed bag or an airtight container, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. Skip the fridge and the freezer.
BREWING RECIPES
15g in, 270g out. Water at 99ยฐC. Bloom with 75g of water for 1:00. First pour to 170g, second pour to 270g. Total brew time around 3:30.
22g of coffee, ground coarse, at a 1:18 ratio (anywhere from 1:15 to 1:18 works). Water at 99ยฐC. Bloom with 110g, valve open, then close the valve as soon as you finish pouring and keep it closed through the bloom. After 1 minute, pour about 2cm of water above the bed and open the valve. Keep the water 2cm above the bed until you reach the target weight, gently swirl, and let it drain. Aim for 3:30 to 4:00, and adjust the grind to land there.
18g in, 54g out, a 1:3 ratio. Around 50 seconds, more a guideline than a strict target. 9 bar, pre-infusion 3 to 5 seconds, a steady medium flow, and water as hot as your machine allows. Adjust the grind to hit the time.
1:10, so 100g of coffee to 1L of water. Grind as coarse as you can, add cold water over the grounds, and infuse in the fridge for at least 16 hours. Dilute to taste after brewing.
We use different water for each. Filter: GH 40 (67% calcium, 33% magnesium), KH 20, around 92 ppm total. Espresso: GH 20 (67% calcium, 33% magnesium), KH 50, around 77 ppm total.
WHOLESALE & B2B
Write to wholesale@dakcoffeeroasters.com with a bit about your project: where you are, what you’re building, and when you’d want to start. We reply within 2 working days.
Our minimum order for wholesale pricing is 7.5kg.
We can provide a Certificate of Origin (โฌ59), a Phytosanitary certificate (โฌ20) and an Export Certificate (โฌ20). Language labels are provided by you. Orders that need documentation take longer to dispatch, around 5 to 7 working days. Tell us the destination and what you need when you order.
Sometimes, depending on the situation. Get in touch with your order details and we will check what is possible and how urgent it is before moving it up the queue.
RETURNS & REFUNDS
14 days from delivery for unused, unopened items. Coffee is fresh and perishable, so opened bags can’t be returned. If there’s anything wrong with your order, wrong item, damage in transit, or a genuine quality issue, please write to support@dakcoffeeroasters.com and we’ll make it right.
As a rule we prefer to add credit to your account rather than refund, so it is ready for your next order. Where a refund applies, for example a cancelled order returned to us, it is processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned product.
Write to support@dakcoffeeroasters.com. Within the EU, if the bag is unopened we will swap it or arrange a pickup and send the right one. If it is opened, we will talk it through with you first. Outside the EU, we credit your account first and reship if needed.
First, check the usual windows from dispatch: GLS around 5 working days, DHL Economy around 3, DHL Express around 1. If it is past that, contact the carrier directly, they can trace it fastest. Still stuck, write to support@dakcoffeeroasters.com and we will chase it. We reply within 2 working days.
